Tourism Bus in Kanyakumari (Cape Comorin) District Restarted.

From last Saturday onwards tourism bus has started its operations from Kanyakumari. Tourists who are visiting Kanyakumari can use this tourism bus to travel in and around Kanyakumari. There are lots of tourism destinations around Kanyakumari which most of the tourists are unaware. This tourism bus helps in visiting those places. The tour include destinations like Vattakotta, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Pechi Para, Thripprappu, Mathoor Thottipalam, Muttom Beach and Suchindram Temple. The bus will start from about 7 am in the morning and reach kanyakumari at around 8 pm in the evening. In each destination there will be half an hour halt and maximum time is halted in Thiripparappu water falls. As it is holiday for Padmanabhapuram Palace on Monday more tourism destinations will be included on that day. Theatre Camp from May 10 2011

A theare (drama) camp will be oranised from 10th of may in Vithura. The camp will be jointly organised by the delhi national school of drama and Friends (suhruthu nadaka kalai) drama school, Vithura - Balabhvan. The camp is organised for 1 month. The camp will be guided by Bhushan Rao from Delhi National School of Drama. Children who are less than 16 years old are eligible to attend the camps. Hand Washing Day

In association with World Health Organization, SAMAD IVF Hospital, Trivandrum has organized World Hand Washing Day. As part of this MD of Samad Hospital has talked about the need for washing your hands and provided guidelines on how to properly wash your hands. Shanta Devi, N Ramachandan, K Prathapachandran were present at the ocassion.

Swadeshabhimani Kesari award for T Venugopal

Kerala Government's first Swadeshabhimani - Kesari award (puraskaram) awarded to T Venugopal. The award was given by the cultural affairs and educational minister MA Baby. The award comprises of 1 lakh rupees. T Venugopal was the deputy editor of Mathrubhumi. Education minister in his speech has said the T Venugopal's contribution towards the advancement of journalism and in introducing new journalism culture is quite unique. Minister has also said that T Venugopal has helped in creating an association for journalists in kerala. Kerala's industrial minister was also present in the occasion. Industrial minister has told that society should recognize and encourage journalists in their brave efforts to being truth to the limelight. Minister has refereed to the efforts by journalists with regard to the recent endosulfan issue. Many other dignitaries from the field of journalism, kerala government and newspaper industry were present in the occasion.
